I don’t like DDR! While I’m not much into conspiracy theories, I do think the makers of DDR have a hidden agenda and I think this video proves it!
They are forcing people to over-exert themselves in order to take over the world? This boy was never meant to move like that and the proof is at the end of the video!
They are also working their agenda on those with one legs!
One Leg! He’s putting himself in such great danger! Shame on you, the makers of DDR!
Try to hit the teacher with a cake, DO IT!
**note these games have been fixed to allow you to keep playing and not ever be interrupted by a lame popup ads!**
Here's the first flash game I'm posting, it's a great little game involving a Futbol Penality shot (Soccer to us Yanks!) with the goal being guarded by a chicken!
**note these games have been fixed to allow you to keep playing and not ever be interrupted by a lame popup ads!**
I haven’t decoded if I want to keep this lame pirate jargon the site….
So here’s a new section, it’s called Pieces of Eight. On the right side of my site, I’ll have a link to my latest Piece of Eight. For now this section will contain my latest obsession: Lame Flash Games from Web Banner Ads. You know like the type you’ll see on myspace which basically are trying to get you to click a bunch of times then you win (or lose) and then win the product… What annoys me the most is all you end up with is a stupid popup window. So here I present to you *uninterrupted* Lame Flash Banner Ad Games. You can play as long as you like and it shouldn’t create a popup after you’re done!
I created a link (Piece of Eight in the right column) to a list of the games (to expedite finding your favorite game) or you can always access the latest one by clicking title of the game in the right column. From there you can navigate to previously posted games.
I decided to force the display of these games this way and to not include them on the main page (or RSS feed) because too many flash objects slow down or crash computers (the myspace effect!) and I may post a lot of these and don’t want bloat the RSS feed or main page with Lame Flash Banner Ad Games.
Feel free to comment on each game… have fun hopefully?
I’ve decided to create this section because I’ve found people are usually either asking for my (software / tech / whatever) recommendations or after talking to someone I find they are generally excited by things I normally use. So in an effort to help out I’ve decided to post these here and now let me introduce: Captain Approved!
I’ve been listening to talk radio as long as I can remember. It probably started from hanging around with my grandfather.
Thanks to the spread of broadband and the increased ease of recording on PCs we have podcasting… however I find that many (home made) podcasts usually don’t interest me. Thankfully many of my favorite AM radio stations to stream their shows on the Internet (and some even offer limited podcasts). However, the challenge remains with my busy and often complicated (work) schedule and being married I do not have enough time to listen to my favorite talk shows (this is very anti-TiVo).
More than a year ago while I was still working at that other place and after I grew tired of interruptions causing me to miss my morning talk radio, I decided I would find or figure out a solution for a TiVo like experience for AM radio. I found a company called Applian Technologies which looked to do what I wanted.
I must admit, their website and product offering is confusing, they seem to offer too many overlapping products so here’s where my recommendations hopefully come in handy.
Basically they have two products to look into: one which will tune a stream and *dump* that stream to disk leaving you with a Real Audio or Windows Media Audio file which you can play back at a later time (WMVCR)… or they have another product which will dump the stream and then convert it to MP3 or AAC for later playback (ReplayAV). Both products have a scheduling feature where you can program in your favorite shows (from a pre configured list or manually) and if you leave your computer on it will record these automagically for you.
After *testing* a version of WMVCR for a few weeks I decided to support a company producing a great product and I bought it. Recently, the company updated the Replay Radio product to become the Replay AV which combined the stream dumping and soundcard loop back recording functions of the two products into one AWESOME product.
Both products work great… however if you’re looking for the most user friendly and powerful product I’d recommend to buy the ReplayAV product.
Apparently the city of Fontana doesn’t want to be called *Fontucky* anymore so they are starting a year long long marketing campaign.
“The mayor today at a town hall meeting will mention the campaign - a first for Fontana - to inform residents of all the projects in the works and change their perception about the community as well as create a sense of pride and unity.
‘It’s about making them feel better about where they live, putting to rest those people who have chastised us and criticized us and we are the butt of their jokes,’ Mayuga said.
‘It’s not funny anymore because we are doing much better than they are probably,’ he said.”
So I’ve learned they’ve had their first town hall meeting, and they are tired of being the butt of jokes and are *probably* doing better than us…
After visiting their official website I learned Fontana is building a library complete with a technology center! Maybe they can use this *technology* to make their city smell less or figure out how to help me pass by it quicker on the 10. I think in order for them to improve their joke status maybe they should stop bragging about being home to a major Home Shopping Network distribution center!
If you’re proud of your Fontucky roots, you can get a hat and shirt from this site (watch out for that truck!).
Well it’s looking like Pixar will be bought out by Disney tomorrow. I am worried for Pixar. I worked at the *mouse* for 2 & 1/2 years and witnessed first-hand (operationally) how a great company can destroy itself. To be fair Michael Eisner was at the helm of the company and he was quite a lazy, pompus idiot. Disney is under new CEO control and this guy (Iger) seems to be focused on fixing lazy Eisner created problems.
If this deal goes down tomorrow it will put Steve Jobs as the largest single shareholder in Disney. This situation will be interesting to watch unfold. Steve Jobs was able to fix Apple can he lend a hand to fix Disney. Disney has not had a sucessful / good animation film in quite some time. This is probably due to them replacing their quality employees and compensating the resulting (bad) flims with more frequent releases. Lets hope they don’t change much at Pixar and just stick to the formula that’s worked for both companies: A Quality Film = Disney Investment + Disney Distribution + Pixar Controlled Animation, Story and Character Design.
Cars will be out soon, the trailer looks good and i can’t wait to see another quality short and feature length animation.
Lori and I *screened* this movie tonight…
Despite the (unnecessary) uncomfortable (overly gay) moments, it was an ok movie. I’m not sure how (or if) this movie reveals Ang Lee’s direction style. It’s a love story filmed in beautiful scenery with a nice visual feeling most of the time. However, the (extreme) gay moments of the movie are just far too disturbing to watch and make you feel uneasy after.
Still, I’m not sure why this movie is getting so much acclaim besides it being directed by Ang Lee and it touches a subject not usually dealed with in a serious/cowboy manner. The story / writing is very average. The actors do a good job at leading you to believe they are gay. I’m also not sure if this movie does much good for the gay community as there are quite a few stereotypes portrayed.
I am disappointed with the use of “going fishing with my fishing buddy” and some nice camping / nature scenes to masquerade their *exploration* time. I’ve been fishing many times and have never witnessed anything like what takes place up on the dork-back mountain.
Prepare to feel uncomfortable if you decide to watch this movie, you’ve been warned! I can’t wait to see the CleanFilms edited version!
I’m all rested and here are quick thoughts on my experience…
This was my first year at the Golden Globes. We were stationed in the backstage press room (photo below), this is where the winners and often the presenters come out to stand on a small stage in front of 40 or so photographers to pose with their statue. When a celeb would come out they would be introduced by a man with a cue card and then it would get loud and what seemed like a million flashes of light would begin to strobe.
My job was to dump digital photo cards and I also helped the caption writer with captions. The night moved along rather quick and I got to see all the winners, most presenters and other random celebs. Most had to walk right in front of our table to leave the room, it was pretty cool. There was also (good) catered food in the room next door, where you’d occasionally catch a celeb grabbing a quick bite to eat after the photo room.
The strangest part of the evening was when I peeed next to the older brother from the Prison Break show…
One of the funnier celeb moments was watching Melissa Rivers take pictures with people who seem to think she’s famous as Paris Hilton walked by then see Meilssa run towards Joan Rivers and shout… “hey mom, mom…”
Overall it was a fun, loud, bright and late night (I also learned I’m not prone to seizures).
