Happy (Birth)day to me!

Today’s the day, USA vs Italy! That’s what I’m doing for my birthday folks… well at least for the morning and early afternoon… after that I’m heading out to dinner with the family but mostly to celebrate my grandparent’s 55th wedding anniversary. I share my birthday with their anniversary date. You see I was *the* 38th wedding anniversary gift!

A little tradition of mine has been to play “Happy Birthday to Me” by the Vandals way to many times… so this year you can all play it for me and laugh along, it’s a great anthem to have on your birthday!

Here’s a list of events that have taken place on June 17th (courtsey of the wikipedia).

    Thanks…

It was a decent game, the Ref was out of control (many bad calls for both sides) of course I would like to have seen Italy clench the group but I would also have liked to seen the US win too. The US played very strong and you can see they changed their game dramatically from the first game, bravo US! So far it’s been a different World Cup, even powerhouses like Brazil and Mexico are having a hard time winning (the world is finally getting better!)

I’m mostly proud of sharing birthdays with:
Newt Gingrich, Tommy Franks, Jello Biafra (of the Dead Kennedys)and of course Jon (Uncle Rico) Gries!
Also the coolest thing that has ever happened on my brithday: The OJ Chase, I remember that one, I watched every minute and when it was over I said, thanks OJ and AC for providing entertainment!
